Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh broke a lot of hearts and won a lot more at the same time when they took their relationship to the next level and tied the knot in a picturesque Lake Como wedding. The high-profile wedding was the talk of the town for all the right reasons including for its z-security that made fans (including us) wait for official pictures with bated breath. Now, we did expect a certain grandeur but Deepika and Ranveer looked dreamy beyond comprehension. Call it their spark or the charm of the place, all of it translated and how!
In fact, Deepika Padukone recently opened up about their wedding destination and told Harper’s Bazaar US, “(Finding) a place that would feel private was the top priority. And we both love the water, so to be surrounded by water was important.” She also revealed how hubby dearest Ranveer Singh just wanted to make sure that his bride is happy throughout even if it didn’t mean a traditional wedding. “There was a lot of temptation to move away from the traditional, especially for the two of us, who are constantly travelling, but it was important to me. Ranveer has always been okay with whatever. He’s always said, ‘Whatever makes you happy makes me happy.’ But for me, it’s about wanting to do everything at the right time. It’s how I saw my parents do it, so I didn’t know any other way,” she added.
The actress also spoke about their decision of not living together before marriage. When asked about the same, she said, “If we had started living together earlier, then what would we be discovering later on? That’s what this year has been, living together and discovering each other. I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it.”
That’s not the end of it; Deepika even expressed her desires about having kids and raising them as her parents did. “My sister and I had two working parents who were still able to give every aspect of their lives, time, and dignity, whether it’s work or being home with us. I hope that when Ranveer and I start a family, we’re able to do it the way I experienced it as a child with my parents. Just rooted, wholesome and secure,” she concluded.
On the work front, fans(including us) are waiting with bated breath to see them as husband and wife in Kabir Khan’s ’83. Ranveer will step into the shoes of Kapil Dev who is fondly remembered as the Haryana Hurricane. Deepika will portray Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia Dev in the film which is scheduled to release in theatres on 10th April 2020. ’83 is a biopic based on the life of former Indian skipper Kapil Dev and also narrates the story of India’s historic win at the coveted World Cup in 1983.
