Housefull 4 takes some elements of the Housefull franchise to maintain the confusion ‘comedy’ format. This time, the confusion is due to punar janam and wrong romantic pairings. While some portions are tolerable, the hackneyed humour and story gets to you after a point.
What’s it about? It’s 2019 and the place is London. Harry (Akshay Kumar), Max (Bobby Deol) and Roy (Riteish Deshmukh) are in deep trouble. They must repay a huge amount to a gangster because Harry inadvertently washed the entire cash in a washing machine. So, they come up with a plan to marry the daughters of a super-rich man (played by Ranjeet) – Kriti (Kriti Sanon), Pooja (Pooja Hegde) and Neha (Kriti Kharbanda). Their marriages are fixed and they head to Sitamgad in India for a destination wedding. But that’s not all. All of them are reincarnated and Sitamgad has a link to their past birth.
The spoof of Baahubali song is funny and so are some of the scenes and jokes. The cinematography and the action scenes are commendable. It also has a few clever references to some old films and songs. Akshay Kumar’s performance is decent.
