The upcoming biopic based on the life of First Indian man in space, Rakesh Sharma, has been in the news ever since the project was announced. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Aamir Khan was initially reported to play the lead in the film. However, Aamir later confirmed Shah Rukh Khan would take his place and he will start working on the biopic soon. But since reports surfaced that Shah Rukh Khan has left the project and has moved on to work in the third installment of his popular action series ‘Don’, the biopic has been in haze.
Much has been talked about who will be playing the lead in the film, with reports suggesting the producer going for someone from the younger actors of Bollywood. Names like Vicky Kaushal and Kartik Aaryan had popped up with reports suggesting any one of them have been roped in to play the lead.
According to the latest reports, it is now being said that actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently in the running and that the makers are looking on to sign the actor for the film. Reports also suggest that the makers are set to make an official announcement soon.
