He has played a sportsman on-screen before and will be seen essaying the role of one in his next too – The Zoya Factor. Angad Bedi was last seen as a hockey player in Soorma with Diljit Dosanjh, and now essays the role of Robin Rawal – an ex-captain of Indian Cricket Team. The Abhishek Sharma directorial revolves around the life of a Rajput girl, Zoya Solanki (Sonam Kapoor Ahuja), who meets the Indian cricket team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency and ends up becoming a lucky charm for the team at the Cricket World Cup.
The Zoya Factor is based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel of the same name. And little did anyone know, Angad Bedi read this entire novel about five years ago. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, the actor has revealed that about five years ago, when he read this book, Shah Rukh Khan was the one who was bankrolling The Zoya Factor. Yes, you read that right! SRK was actually producing this film under his production banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. Not only that, The Zoya Factor was initially supposed to be directed by another filmmaker, reveals Angad.
The Soorma star further mentioned that he was in talks for the film back then however things didn’t materialise. Five years later, ‘luck’ worked out in favour of Angad and here he is playing the antagonist in Abhishek Sharma’s film.
