Salman Khan fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his upcoming film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, which is releasing on May 13, on the occasion of Eid. Every year, Eid becomes extra special for fans as it is the time they see their favourite actor, Salman Khan, on the big screen. Eid is also the occasion which guarantees huge box office collection for the star’s film. Last year was not the same as the novel coronavirus pandemic prompted Eid with no Salman Khan film. However, as promised by Salman, he is coming with Radhe this year on Zee5 with Zee’s pay-per-view service, ZeePlex, on the scheduled date.
Ahead of the release of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, here’s a list of all Salman Khan films released on Eid since 2009 along with their box office collections.
Released in 2009, Wanted began the Salman Khan Eid bonanza. Directed by Prabhudeva, the film also stars Ayesha Takia, Prakash Raj and Mahesh Manjrekar in pivotal roles. It acquired a special place in every Salman Khan fan’s heart. At the same time, its music was also loved by all. The film earned Rs 100 crore globally.
In 2010, Salman Khan gifted his fans their very own and loving cop Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, the film has a cult status and is regarded one of the most entertaining Salman Khan films. It also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood and Vinod Khanna. It is one of the first Bollywood films to cross Rs 200 crore mark. The film collected a total of Rs 220 crore.
Directed by Siddiqui Ismail, Bodyguard released in 2011. It stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The film also managed to cross Rs 200 crore mark at the box office, and collected over Rs 234 crore globally.
In Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan played an undercover agent. High on action, the film is directed by Kabir Khan and also stars Katrina Kaif. It made new records for any Salman Khan films and crossed Rs 300 crore mark. Its overall collection was over Rs 334 crore.
In Kick, we see Salman Khan in the role of a robber. Randeep Hooda plays the cop in the heist film, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandes and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. Kick earned over Rs 388 crore at the box office, globally.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan has a different fan base altogether. The film is loved by even those who usually don’t like Salman Khan films. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film earned over Rs 969 crore, making it one of the highest grossing films of all time. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor.
Sultan is a wrestling dram starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also stars Amit Sadh. It managed to earn a gigantic number with a collection of Rs 614 crore, globally.
While Tubelight disappointed many, it managed to earn good at the box office. It crossed Rs 200 crore mark. However, for a Salman Khan film this number was not enough. Also starring Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, and Matin Rey Tangu, the film earned Rs 211 crore.
Race 3 boasts of an ensemble cast helmed by Remo D’souza. The film received negative reviews from the critics, however, it managed to earn Rs 305 crore. Race 3 stars Salman Khan with Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandes, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.
Bharat marks Salman Khan’s another collaboration with director Ali Abbas Zafar after Sultan. Starring Salman Khan, Sunil Grover, Katrina Kaif, and Disha Patani, Bharat earned Rs 325 crores, worldwide. However, it received negative reviews from the film critics.
