Bengali actor jisshu Sengupta has been roped in to play a crucial role in Nani’s Telugu film, Shyam Singha Roy. On Nani’s 37th birthday, the makers of Shyam Singha Roy released the first-look poster of the film. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film also stars Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty. In the the first-look poster, Nani was seen sporting a moustache while a woman hugs him from behind.
Today (March 2), the makers of the film, Niharika Entertainments, took to Twitter to welcome actor Jisshu Sengupta on-board. Their post read, “Welcoming the Most Talented & Dedicated Actor @Jisshusengupta on Board for #ShyamSinghaRoy Fire Royally Welcome aboard sir Raising hands A @Rahul_Sankrityn Film Clapper board Natural Glowing star @NameisNani @Sai_Pallavi92 @IamKrithiShetty @MadonnaSebast14 @MickeyJMeyer @SVR4446 (sic).”
This is the first time Nani is collaborating with director Rahul Sankrityan for a film. From the looks of the poster, it seems the film is going to be a magnum opus. It is being promoted as a film with a unique concept where Nani will feature in a never-seen-before avatar. According to reports, the actor is playing a Bengali character in the film.
Nani is currently waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Tuck Jagadish. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of Tuck Jagadish was put on hold. Now, the film is complete and ready for release.
Produced by Niharika Entertainment, the technical crew of Shyam Singha Roy comprises of composer Mickey J Meyer, cinematographer Sany John Varghese and editor Naveen Nooli. The film is expected to hit the theatres in 2021.
