Several celebrities from all walks of life are coming forward, one by one, pledging monetary support to better the lives of those affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak. While some are contributing to the recently announced Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund or PM-CARES Fund, or individual Chief MInister’s Relief Funds, others are contributing to national and international NGOs working towards this cause.
The latest celebrities to lend monetary support are Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Kareena took to Instagram to share a note, revealing that they are contributing towards UNICEF, Give India and International Association for Human Values (IAHV).
Without mentioning the donation amount, Kareena shared, “At difficult times like these, we need to come together and help each other. We both have taken steps to do just that and have pledged our support to UNICEF, GIVE INDIA and International Association for Human Values (IAHV). We urge those of you who can to do the same, United we stand. Jai Hind.”
The note was signed by Kareena, Saif and little Taimur as well.
Several Bollywood and Southern stars have contributed towards the PM-CARES Fund. Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas, apart from the PM-CARES Fund, also contributed to different NGOs in the USA and India. “The world needs our help more than ever. These organizations are doing amazing work by helping those impacted by #Covid19. They are feeding the hungry (including children out of school), supporting doctors and first responders, helping low income and homeless communities, and supporting our colleagues in the entertainment industry. Nick and I have already donated to these charities: @unicef, @feedingamerica, @goonj, @doctorswithoutborders, @nokidhungry, @give_india, and @sagaftra, #IAHV, @friends_of_aseema, and #PMCares Fund. Thank you for everything you are doing. They need your support too, and we would implore you to donate as well. I have linked to each org with a swipe up in my stories…no donation is too small. Together we can help the world beat this.@nickjonas,” Priyanka wrote on Instagram.
