Gaurav Arya, who was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, has denied all allegations of selling or peddling any kind of drugs to Rhea Chakraborty. He said he had met Rhea in a hotel in Goa in 2017 and exchanged numbers. Rhea, in a casual chat, spoke to him about drugs and he did not entertain her further on that topic. The ED was not satisfied with the answers he gave and therefore have called him again for questioning tomorrow at 11 am. After questioning, Gaurav checked into the Trident Hotel at Nariman Point in Mumbai with his lawyer Manu Sharma.
Kunal Jani who is the director of a Bandra-based restaurant with Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra and Ranjit Singh Bindra (accused in the Iqbal Mirchi case) was also investigated by ED.
Gaurav Arya was questioned for nine hours and Kunal Jani for six hours.
Jani was part of a WhatsApp group in which Rhea was also a member. ED has found this chat while scanning through Rhea’s mobile phone. Sources said that Jani and Rhea were seen discussing drugs like hash and doobies. Rhea and Samuel Miranda’s messages regarding doobies were also found by ED where they were talking about their depleting stocks.
Jani was grilled by ED regarding the drugs being discussed in the group and whether he was peddling any kind of drug and had supplied the same to Rhea. Jani has also denied the allegations and could be called again for questioning by the agency.
