In the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Google Doodle published a new animated illustration and asked people to wear a face mask in order to curb the deadly outbreak. A mask prevents you from contracting coronavirus and protects others as well.

Today’s special Google Doodle features the letters, covered with face masks, and placed at a distance from each other so as to depict social distancing. “Wear a mask. Save lives: Help Stop Coronavirus,” is the message that is displayed if you hover over the Google Doodle with a mouse.

You will be redirected to a page that displays Covid-19 prevention guidelines if you click on the Google Doodle.

“Wear a mask. Save lives. Wear a face cover. Wash your hands. Keep a safe distance,” are the basic precautionary measures that are listed.

The page also says, “Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions. Follow advice provided by your local health authority.”

Apart from maintaining social distance and washing your hands with soap and water frequently, you must wear a face mask if you step out of home.

“Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against Covid-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your local health authority,” the page says.

Over the past few months, Google has published doodles frequently to spread awareness regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Globally, nearly three crore novel coronavirus cases have been recorded so far. India has recorded over 45 lakh cases so far.
