The much-talked about #MeToo movement created a storm in Bollywood after actress Tanushree Dutta flagged off the movement by accusing actor Nana Patekar for sexually harassing her on the sets of ‘Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss’ about ten years ago. While the actor had rubbished all the accusations levelled against him by the actress, Tanushree had formally lodged a complaint with the police. It has been about six months and there has been reportedly no progress on the case yet. According to reports, cops are finding it difficult to find a witness whose story matches that of Tanushree. Apparently, 12 to 15 eyewitnesses have recorded their statements and none have been able to recall the incident as it took place ten years ago.
Speaking about the same, Tanushree reportedly wanted to know who those 15 witnesses are and if they were from her side or Nana’s side. She also stated that she doesn’t need any witnesses to prove that she was harassed.
According to the actress, the truth is sometimes difficult to prove in a court of law when it comes to harassment. The cops have been so slow with the probe. Most of the people from whom they are taking statements are the ones who watched me getting harassed and did nothing to support me. She also added that the mentality of people is such that they will lie to protect such criminals and prove the woman wrong.
Tanushree even went on to say that people who are in support of her and want to record a statement are being threatened by Nana Patekar. Statement of actress Daisy Shah and choreographer Ganesh Acharya have also been reportedly recorded in this case as they were present on the sets of this film.
