Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on July 19. After almost a week, actor Rana Daggubati managed to watch the film on the OTT platform and expressed his thoughts. He took to Instagram to appreciate Keerthy’s performance. Rana shared a poster of Penguin and posted a short review. He wrote, “Caught up on this amazing film over the weekend; kudos to the entire team of Penguin. @keerthysureshofficial has lived and breathed this character that is much older than her and has yet again proved her finesse as an outstanding performer. Do not miss it! (sic).”
Recently, Rashmika Mandanna caught the screening of Penguin on the OTT platform and was bowled over by Keerthy Suresh’s performance. The actress also loved how Keerthy’s dog Cyrus (in the film) protected the entire family.
Interestingly, Cyrus is director Eashvar Karthic’s own dog. In a statement, the director said, “Actually his (Cyrus’) real name is Maddy and he is my own dog! He knows my body language very well and I understand each and every movement of his. While I was looking for trained dogs for the part for a while, I wasn’t able to find any that I thought worked. So just before we went on floors for production I just picked Maddy to play Cyrus and he was just brilliant. He never needed too many instructions and was such a natural. He really is a one-take artist!”
Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. The film follows the journey of a pregnant mother who goes to any extent to save her child.
