The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to be held in Goa from November 20-28. For the first time ever, the organisers have roped in a South Indian actress to speak at the event and that is none other than Samantha. According to ANI, the organisers have also roped in director Aruna Raje, actor John Edathattil and director Vivek Agnihotri as speakers at IFFI. Manoj Bajpayee is among the speakers as well.

Samantha, who recently announced her split with her estranged husband, Naga Chaitanya, is now trying to move on in life. As per ANI reports, the actress has now been invited to speak at the IFFI. Samantha is the first South Indian actress to be invited as a speaker at the event.

Samantha was last seen in directors Raj and DK’s The Family Man 2. The series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It has been more than a year since the actress had a theatrical release. Samantha is now waiting for the release of Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekar. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Samantha revealed that her upcoming Tamil film, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, will be a theatrical release. However, there has been no update on that front. She has signed Tamil-Telugu bilinguals with director duo Hari and Harish and Shantharuban.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya fell in love with each other on the sets of Autonagar Surya in 2014. After dating for three years, the couple tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony in 2017. Their destination wedding in Goa became the talk of the town back then. On October 2, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced that they have parted ways as wife and husband. The couple dated for three years and were married for four years before calling it quits. They have filed for divorce by mutual consent. Reportedly, Samantha was offered Rs 200 crore alimony by Naga Chaitanya and his family. However, the actress refused it saying that she doesn’t want a penny from him.
