A mysterious letter, all the way from Patna arrived at the residence of actor Rhea Chakraborty in Mumbai. Rhea, who lived with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is one of the prime accused in the case of suicide abetment of suicide that was registered in Bihar following Sushant’s father, KK Singh’s FIR. The case was then transferred to the CBI, who is currently investigating the same.
The letter in question came in a yellow envelope and carried Rhea’s residential address. The sender was a person who had sent the speed post from Mahendru Sub Post office which is barely 15 km from Rajput’s residence in Patna. Though no member of Rajput’s family now resides at Patna, this said post office is about 15 km from Rajiv Nagar where Rajput spent his childhood.
In Mumbai, however, Rhea’s residence located in Santa Cruz (West) near SNDT college bore a deserted look. There is hardly any movement of persons or goods seen around the building. Rhea and her family resides on the first floor of the building, Primrose. On Monday some pastries were seen going inside the house by a food delivery person. But on Wednesday, when the letter from Patna arrived, it was returned as “door locked”. The postal department has put the letter on “hold” because of this.
Similarly, a house help, who works in the building said that even after ringing the bell of the house, no one responded.
The residence which Rhea calls her own is said to be owned by her father. Few residents in the building say that they had seen Rhea talk to Sushant when they were seeing each other. He would drive down and park his car outside the gate on the road and both would talk for hours. The neighbours remember the late actor as a pleasant person to interact with.
Rajput, who has worked in the television and film industry, was found dead in his rented apartment in upmarket Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14. His father, who now stays in Faridabad, had registered an FIR in Patna against Rhea. He alleged that Rhea had pushed him into committing suicide and had also siphoned off Rs 15 crore from his bank accounts.
