In 2018, Karan Johar announced his mega ambitious project, Takht, with actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar. Since then, people have been eagerly waiting for the filmmaker to divulge more details about his period drama. They are curious to know when filming for Takht will begin. It seems their prayers have finally been answered. According to a Mid-Day report, the multi-starrer is ready to go on floors in February 2020. The actors will begin shooting for Karan Johar’s magnum opus in the last week of February next year. It will be a start-to-finish schedule of about 170 days.

“Karan is working on the final edits of the script, while the team has been zeroing in on dates that are suitable for all actors. While several actors can work on their portions individually, Ranveer, Vicky and Kareena have several shots together, and are hence needed during the same shooting window,” a source close to the development informed a tabloid.
Ranveer Singh had recently spilled the beans about his collaboration with Karan. In an interview with Femina, he had said, “I have always wanted to collaborate with Karan Johar and he offered me a brilliant part in a killer story. It’s unlike anything I have done before and I saw the potential to make something noteworthy out of it.” On the other hand, Kareena had earlier mentioned, “It’s a special film because it’s going to be a first for all of us, including Karan. Making this kind of movie or me working with Ranveer, Vicky or any of these guys, I better be on my toes, that’s all I know. Because I think it’s like as if they’ve been professionally scrubbed and trained to face the camera. Like every emotion, every move and they make it look real.”
