After trying his hands in the horror genre with ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’, Vicky Kaushal is all set to team up with Karan Johar for his upcoming period drama, ‘Takht’. The actor says this is off his bucket list as he always wanted to do a period film and Karan Johar is helming it. In a recent interview with a news portal, Vicky reportedly opened up about working with Bollywood’s powerhouse Ranveer Singh in the movie. The two actors will reportedly be playing two warring brothers in ‘Takht’.
Speaking about the same, he reportedly said that he absolutely love Ranveer. He revealed that there were times when they were sitting on each other’s laps only. Although Vicky feels it’s going to be a bit difficult to play warring brothers, given their camaraderie in real life, but he says he is definitely looking forward to working with him.
Karan Johar’s magnum opus boasts of an ensemble star cast which include, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Talking about working with so many actors together for the first time, Vicky reportedly said that it is going to be a very different set-up. According to Vicky, it’s always fun when you collaborate with people and discover each other’s energy and play with it.
He added that he is very excited to get on with the table read and workshops which he feels will be a fresh thing for all of them.
‘Takht’ is reportedly set in the Mughal era and will showcase the story of two warring brothers Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. It will be based on the war between Shah Jahan’s son Aurangzeb reportedly played by Vicky Kaushal and elder brother Dara Shikoh reportedly played by Ranveer Singh. Kareena Kapoor Khan will reportedly essay the role of Aurangzeb’s sister and the first lady of the Mughal Empire, Jahanara Begum. Anil Kapoor will be reportedly starring as Shah Jahan. Apart from this, the actor has some very interesting films lined up which include, Udham Singh biopic, Meghna Gulzar’s next based on the life and achievements of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Ashwathama.
Meanwhile, Vicky has been in the news of late for his love rumoured relationship with Katrina Kaif. Although the two are yet to come out in open about the same, their social media PDA, dinner dates and outings speak volumes about their love affair.
