Vidya Balan recently opened up about facing sexism from men, women and herself. According to her, there have been times when she has underestimated herself because she is a woman.
Spilling some more beans on the same, Vidya told a news portal that sexism is not only about how men treat women, it is also about the mindset that women have, as a result of their deep-rooted conditioning.
Elaborating further, Vidya added that she has faced sexism from men, women and herself. The actress also confessed that she has sometimes underestimated herself because she is a woman. However, over time, she added that she has realised there is a way out of this. Now, the ‘Tumhari Sulu’ actress stated that she does not hold herself back because of her gender.
The actress also talked about receiving praise from the audience for her latest release, ‘Sherni’. According to her, she makes films for people to watch; the more people watch it, the happier it makes her. However, she added that it is not about validation. She chooses the stories she wants to tell and it is based on what the audience will like.
